Granting funds for student recognition and rewards for academic achievement

We believe that the goal of education is student learning. While learning can take place through many avenues of study, whether it be academics, arts, activities, or athletics, we believe that the primary purpose for Don Antonio Lugo High School’s existence is Academics, embodied through its greatest ceremony, Graduation. We will grant funds to Don Antonio Lugo High School for student recognition and rewards for academic achievement. Don Antonio Lugo High School may, among any reasonable grant, that supports this exempt purpose, for which they can apply, be granted funds for promoting student academic achievement through:

-posters, academic apparel, regalia, and school supplies that encourage excellence in academics, promoting standards, benchmarks, and curriculum.

-academic honor cards.

-student rallies, celebrations, rituals and ceremonies that place academic achievement as a central, sustained focus.

-improved infrastructure and facilities in which students are proud to be hosted, such as our own Stadium to host graduation (instead of graduating on another campus).

-character and leadership training.

Granting funds for staffulty recognition and rewards for inspirationally promoting student academic achievement and parent involvement

We believe that inspirational leaders create inspired students. Ask most students about their favorite teachers and often they will speak of leaders who inspire them to work hard, learn well, and embody excellence. While any person can be intimidated into performing a task, inspirational teachers uphold the guarantee that students have a right to learn by inspiring students toward academic excellence. Inspirational staff and faculty alike play a critical role in the creation of a High School Graduate, in that they both exist as crucial developmental assets into which students tap. Inspirational staffulty become an extension of a healthy, nurturing family for the student, embodying the true spirit of a community of learning. Additionally, inspirational staffulty often become a hub through which students, educators, and parents come together to promote academic achievement. We believe that inspirational staffulty play an irreplaceable role in promoting parent involvement in the community of learners. We will grant funds to Don Antonio Lugo High School for staffulty recognition and rewards for inspirationally promoting student academic achievement and parent involvement. Don Antonio Lugo High School may, among any reasonable grant, that supports this exempt purpose, for which they can apply, be granted funds for promoting inspirational behavior on the part of staffulty that increases student academic achievement and parent involvement through:

-posters, academic apparel, regalia, and school supplies that encourages staffulty to be an inspirational force in student lives.

-honorable mentions via mass media.

-student rallies, celebrations, rituals and ceremonies that place academic achievement as a central, sustained focus and recognize inspirational staffulty.

-staffulty celebrations (within school district guidelines), rituals and ceremeonies that place inspirational behavior as a central, sustained focus.

-character and leadership training.

-professional development that emphasize standards, benchmarks, and curriculum.


Granting funds for parent workshops, forums, and events that enhance parent involvement that promotes student academic achievement

We believe that the most significant developmental asset to a student is his or her family. The health of a family is a definitive determiner of the academic success of any student. Don Antonio Lugo High School has the potential to function as a unique hub, where students, staffulty, and parents come together to advocate for the success of our most important stakeholders — the students. Let us redefine our mindset away from binary, two-way, relationships between student-teacher, parent-student, and teacher-parent (to name a few) toward a community view of education, where all stakeholders come together to assist a student toward graduation. Parents play a critical, irreplaceable role in our community — their involvement in their students academic aspirations are key. We will grant funds to Don Antonio Lugo High School for parent workshops, forums, and events that enhance parent involvement that promotes student academic achievement. Don Antonio Lugo High School may, among any reasonable grant, that supports this exempt purpose, for which they can apply, be granted funds for parent workshops, forums, and events that enhance parent involvement that promotes student academic achievement such as:

-revolutionarily engaging parent information nights such as future freshmen night and class orientations.

-parent-educator forums and town-hall meetings to address and understand community needs.

-Nonviolent Communication Workshops.

-Most Inspirational Parent Awards Dinner.

-Parent Summit, enabling you to better assist your future graduate.

Granting funds for business and community partner workshops, forums, and events that enhance business and community partner involvement that promotes student academic achievement

We believe that businesses have a vested interest in the academic success of Don Lugo graduates. First, our graduates become the employees of the businesses of our community. These businesses benefit from the academic success of our students, as these students are knowledgeable graduates, prepared for the workplace. Second, our graduates sometimes go on to become business owners and begin to further support the local economy, bolstering the health of our community. Finally, our graduates, supported by the local economy, become the consumers that support the businesses of our community. Without a doubt, businesses have a significant vested interest in investing in the academic well-being of our students. Unfortunately, business is rarely involved in academic communities. We will grant funds for business and community partner workshops, forums, and events that enhance business and community partner involvement that promotes student academic achievement. Don Antonio Lugo High School may, among any reasonable grant, that supports this exempt purpose, for which they can apply, be granted funds for business and community partner workshops, forums, and events that enhance business and community partner involvement that promotes student academic achievement such through:

-Don Lugo Business School Workshop where businesses teach students what employers look for during the hiring process.

-Student financial literacy seminars where businesses such as banks teach students about money management and about the cost of post-graduation life.

-Partner Night, hosted for Don Lugo Business and Community partners who support Don Antonio Lugo High School through their donation of finances, time, and other resources.

-Events that teach businesses and their leaders why supporting Don Antonio Lugo High School benefits them in the short-term and long-term.
